It might seem like a surprising choice, but it makes plenty of sense for Tyler, The Creator.

Tyler has been working with Converse since 2017, and instead of flipping the most recognizable silhouette, the Chuck Taylor, Tyler went for the One Star. One outlier is the ongoing collaboration between Tyler, The Creator’s Golf Le Fleur label and the Massachusets-based footwear icon. Converse (which is owned by Nike, although people generally don’t associate the two by name) is enduring and undoubtedly popular, for sure, but it’s rarely buzz-worthy - Chucks are so widely available that you’re unlikely to see people camping out outside the Converse store for a shoe they can buy at Nordstrom. Brands like Adidas generate plenty of buzz, too, albeit largely through the Yeezy brand. When it comes to the most hyped sneakers, Nike (including the Jordan sub-brand) undoubtedly gets most of the attention. This week we’re putting a spotlight on a few of Tyler, The Creator’s best sneaker collabs for sale on StockX.

The Auction Block is a new series on Spy highlighting cool and unique products on auction websites. Either way, a bright flowery sneaker is a great way to add some stylish psychedelic flair to any 2018 wardrobe. If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link on our website, SPY.com may receive an affiliate commission. But know they work just as well as statement kicks on a more toned-down look. If you’re looking to steal a major style swerve from Tyler’s own playbook, pair these sneakers with a colorful suit (sans button-up shirt). Plus, our current era of no rules style means wearing some colorful-ass sneakers in non-summer months isn't weird-it's just par for the course. These four flowery colorways are perfect for sun-soaked summer days, while the upscale details and classic One Star silhouette can transition seamlessly into the crisp weather of fall. The new collection didn’t stop at just footwear either-it also includes long-sleeve polo shirts, graphic crewneck sweaters, and tees. That may sound pretty damn colorful-and it is!-but the textured suede brings just the right hint of grown-adult vibes to balance out the flower design and bright colors. The revamped Converse One Star sneaker comes with thicker laces, smoother suede, a tighter sole pattern, and as Tyler himself puts it: “Neat colors.” The collection of kicks stays within the highly saturated color palette that has become synonymous with Golf Le Fleur, with four colorways to choose from: green-and-purple, pink-and-orange, red-and-blue, and white-and-ice blue. That's right: these are worth picking up even if you can't even ollie, bro. And while Tyler himself is known for his California-skater-inspired style, these Converse kicks are a bold sneaker choice that’ll give a jolt of youthful energy to any look. Just like previous releases, these sneakers are as colorful and flowery as ever, but this time the kicks get a new two-tone design-as well as a slew of new details across the board. And now you can get even more of his all-the-colors, all-the-time style, because he's back with a new perfect-for-summer collection under his Golf Le Fleur label with Converse. Young gunner Tyler, the Creator, is a modern master of making loud clothes and sneakers still feel super wearable: it's not uncommon to see dude in a green suit, or anything else just as colorful.
